Me and Margie, dressed for the MVHS Senior Prom, June 1968
She made that dress herself, modeled on a dress that my mother had
(which can
be seen in the photos from my Dad).

Don Langdon, wearing the "Bear" - our name for the coat, a WWII Army
Air
Corps (predecessor to the US Air Force) Arctic flying jacket. He was
the
only one big enough to fill it out.
When we moved back to Illinois in 1959/60 my father was stationed at
the
Evanston IL supply dump. He brought home lots of stuff, including a
full
Arctic Flying suit: this jacket, with a wolverine fur trimmed collar
(the
hairs are hollow, so they never freeze from the wearer's breath),
the pants,
which were bib-overalls, and the boots, which had a 3" deep sheared
wool pile
lining.
Taken in the bedroom at 667 Donax, probably sometime in 1967.

Picnic in Cuyamaca mountains
Winter 1968:
Eric and his girlfriend Debbie,
Kirk Keel,
Margie & me.
In those days you could drive out Hwy 78 and pull off anywhere along
the way,
walk down the hill and have a picnic.
That's Lake Cuyamaca in the
background.
